Yamaha RX-V667
$600.00
Released June, 2010
The Pros:Best in class GUI OSD interface. 7.1 analog inputs. 6 x HDMI inputs, including one on the front.
The Cons:No out-of-the-box iPod / iPhone connectivity - requires the YDS-12 dock, sold separately. Complicated unintuitive remote. Basic no-flare aesthetic.
The Yamaha RX-V667 is a 7.2-channel, 3D-capable A/V receiver released as a replacement for the RX-V665. It incorporates two additional HDMI interface ports, an improved user interface, and all discrete amplifier output stages (versus co-amp stages), which results in better output drive and sound quality.

However, the unit does not inherit its predecessor’s Top Art, XM / XM HD surround sound, and neural surround, though XM can still be enjoyed via a seperately purchased tuner. Signature though is the Yamaha RX-V667’s addition of full HDMI v1.4a support for 3D and Audio Return, as well as deep Color, x.v.Color, and 24Hz refresh rates—a level of functionality typically only found in RX-V1900, $1000+ models and above). Additional features include precise interlacing, motion adaptive / edge adaptive deinterlacing, and multi-cadence (3-2 pull-down) detection.
