Western Digital My Book Pro Edition II
$549.00
The Pros:Designed to look good next to your Mac Pro. Good capacity. Wide variety of connections.
The Cons:Capacity is beginning to look small next to Seagate's 1.5TB drive option. No eSATA.
One Terrabyte of external storage! The My Book Pro Edition II is an external storage system comprised of a dual drive featuring RAID striping or mirroring. If you need redundancy then you can halve the size of the HD to 500 GB and you are automatically protected against one of the internal storage drives failing, or you can use mirroring to get a 1 TB of storage with almost twice the throughput.

#western_digital_my_book_pro_edition_ii Ya, that's my thinking as well. If you're already going for this kind of external storage, then NAS is the way to go. It's not THAT big of a deal though, as you can just expose the drives on the computer to the network, making it act like a NAS. It'd just be nice to plug and play without having to do that kind of setup.
