The Western Digital My Book AV is a storage expander for home digital video recorders. It has both an eSATA and USB 2.0 interface, allowing it to connect to a wide range of devices for recording and playback of media on its 1 Terabyte capacity hard drive.

The unit can be laid profile or stood up on its 1.9 inch edge, reducing the amount of room it takes up on the shelf. The hard drive uses WD GreenPower technology which is optimized for the high temperatures often found in entertainment centers. Video recording and playback is made possible with SilkStream technology through the eSATA connection, and videos from a compatible camcorder can be transferred directly without the need of a PC.
