Toshiba Satellite P505-S8980

$1,020.00 Released October, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Large, bright screen appropriate for viewing photos and high-resolution graphics. Speakers are high quality, provide well-rounded sound. Generally operates silently, can't hear a fan running.

The Cons:Graphics processing is not up to gaming duties. Glossy finish accumulates some smudges, although not as much as some other models. Keyboard is built flat, slows down typing speed a little.

The Toshiba Satellite P505-S8980 is one of six notebooks in the P500 series that was released in October 2009 alongside the Windows 7 operating system. It is in fact a major best seller and one of the top models in the series due to the addition of a Blu-ray ROM drive, 2GB of extra memory (for a total of 6GB), and the HDMI-CEC interface for transmitting high-definition content to a compatible HDTV set.
