The Pros:Improved mic that is now retractable, rather than removable, this reduces cable clutter. The 7.1 virtual surround sound USB sound card works well to provide a good sound reproduction in games. Comfortable leather earcups that provides good sound isolation.

The Cons:Leather ear cups become compressed over a long period of use. The leather earpads can be annoying in the warm summer seasons.

The SteelSeries Siberia V2 USB is a USB-based gaming headset designed for computer gamers. Compatible with both Windows and Macintosh systems, the V2 USB headset offers 50mm drivers and leather padded cushions like other V2 models.

It too offers an 18-28,000Hz frequency range. The difference, however, is that the microphone and in-line controls have been downgraded. Included is just a standard uni-directional microphone and simple up/down volume controls. One thing that sets the V2 USB apart though is an included 7.1 virtual sound USB soundcard that users are encouraged to use as an alternative to their onboard soundcard. The only downside to the headset is its cheap, plastic construction.
