A rethinking of a classic franchise that began in 1988, Splatterhouse (2010) has been designed for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, focusing on gore-heavy combat applied to the classic action format. The original story boasts the inspiration from renowned comic talent Gordon Rennie of Necronauts and Judge Dredd fame.

Its extensive soundtrack features some of the larger names in Metal, including Lamb of God, Five Finger Death Punch, and Mastodon, and compliments the pace and manic action in-game. The game also features the bonus unlockable of accessing the first three game in the series, as a throwback and bonus to franchise followers and nostalgic gamers. Overall, Splatterhouse is an offering to loyal followers to bring the gore standard to today's graphical platforms, while giving an easy nod to its history.
