Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V
$299.99
Released March, 2011
The Pros:Compact - makes for a great travel camera. 10x optical zoom - great for getting in close to the action from just about anywhere. Good low light performance.
The Cons:The GPS feature drains the battery. Takes a while to commit continuous shooting snaps to memory - over 15 seconds. Lacks RAW format support.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V is one of five 3D-compliant digital cameras released together in early 2011. Unlike the other models in the series, the DSC-HX7V features a lower-grade Sony G lens, though it still maintains the capacity to capture 3D still images up to 4608x3456 in JPEG, and 2D 1080/60i videos in AVCHD/MP4/MPEG-4.

One notable feature on this model is a built-in GPS and compass system that allows the user to record the location and direction of a particular photo. Also included is support for 3D panorama shots, background defocusing (a DSLR-like feature not typically found in compact cameras), and a 3" LCD touchscreen display.
