Skorpion Quad Multi-Terrain Skates

$150.00 Released May, 2007

Product Shot 1 The Pros:These are great on grass hills!

The Cons:They're not usable on many dirt roads; "multi-terrain" apparently doesn't include dirt roads in case you're wondering. Base bearings are crap. upgrade bearings at time of purchase or as soon as possible thereafter. By unsettling wheels we see that they crack at the level of the axis inside, after only 2 uses!!

These are the 2007 model: large, classy-looking, strap-n-go multi-terrain skates that make it possible to go where few skaters have gone before.

With 4 130mm wheels on each foot, it's easy to stay balanced on these skates.

Where to Buy

The brake is on the right wheel and is close enough to the road to make easy contact without having to be a contortionist.

A spring for each wheel provides good shock absorption, and the front and back straps can be easily ratcheted tight.

it's hard to undo the rear strap, it takes some finagling each time.

jcomeau_ictx: #skorpion_quad_multi_terrain_skates It supposedly works on grass and cobblestones, to name two. LandRollers don't work on the dirt roads around here, either; I tried those first. My dirtboard with 9-1/2 inch tires is about the only thing short of a bicycle that will work.

I figured out the rear strap; make sure to thread it through the provided loops when ratcheting. Then to undo them, push the tab, and the whole strap, horizontally along the top of your foot and both front and rear straps slide off almost effortlessly. Jun 24, 07

Erik: #skorpion_quad_multi_terrain_skates That sucks about the multi-terrain limitations. Wouldn't you expect that it would include dirt roads. I would think that's the first thing you'd try? What other kind of terrain is left? Pavement? Jun 22, 07
