The 3000 FJ's Fluidrive II feature polishes the gear surface to maximize tooth contact. This reel's Dyna-Balance feature eliminates wobble during the retrieve by counter balancing the rotor to enhance sensitivity and smoothness. The 3000 FJ has Super Stopper II, which uses a one-way bearing to eliminate backplay. This model differs from the closely related 2500 FJ model in that the 2500 FJ has a different line capacity (6/200, 8/140, 10/120 as opposed to the 3000 FJ's 6/230, 8/170, 10/140), a different power pro line capacity (10/170, 15/145, 30/95 as opposed to the 3000 FJ's 10/235, 20/145, 40/110), has only eleven pounds of maximum drag (as opposed to the 3000 FJ's fifteen pounds), and weighs 10.1 ounces (as opposed to the 3000 FJ's 9.9 ounces). This model differs from the closely related 4000 FJ model in that the 4000 FJ has a 8/240, 10/200, 12/160 line capacity, a 15/265, 30/175, 50/145 power pro line capacity, has thirty-seven inches of line retrieve per crank (as opposed to the 3000 FJ's thirty-five inches), has a 5.7:1 gear ratio (as opposed to the 3000 FJ's 6.2:1 gear ratio), and weighs 14.1 ounces.
