This model differs from the closely related 2500 RJ model in that it has only thirty-two inches of line retrieve per crank (as opposed to the 2500 RJ's thirty-five inches), has a lower line capacity (4/170, 6/130, 8/90 as opposed to the 2500 RJ's 6/200, 8/140, 10/120), has a lower power pro line capacity (10/95, 15/85, 20/65 as opposed to the 2500 RJ's 10/170, 15/145, 30/95), and weighs less (10.2 ounces as opposed to 10.4 ounces). The Shimano Symetre 1500 RJ spinning reel is equipped with Super Stopper II, an anti-reverse feature that utilizes a one-way bearing to eliminate backplay.
