Shimano Stradic 4000 FI
Released May, 2010
The Pros:Action is so smooth you can fish all day and not get sore wrists or arms. Reeling in the fish is a flawlessly smooth action. Can handle heavy, intense usage without wearing out.
The Cons:Higher than average price for an inshore-focused reel.
The Shimano Stradic 4000 FI is a mid-cost spinning reel. The Dyna-Balance feature of this spinning reel eliminates wobble and vibrations during retrieve by counter balancing the rotor to enhance sensitivity and smoothness.

The Fluidrive II feature of this spinning reel provides tight tolerances as well as control in the cutting process. This increases the efficiency of the retrieve, for more power with less effort. The Stradic 4000 FI's Aero Wrap II feature is a worm gear oscillation system with a specially designed pitch. It provides a uniform line lay and winding shape to prevent loss of energy during the cast, while providing longer casts than other oscillation systems. The Stradic 4000 FI is forged with a combination of aluminum and graphite components, which ensures a combination of durability and light weight. This model differs from the closely related Stradic 5000 FI model in that the Stradic 5000 FI has thirty-seven inches of line retrieve per crank (as opposed to the Stradic 4000 FI's thirty-six inches), has a higher line capacity and power pro line capacity, has twenty-five pounds of maximum drag (as opposed to the Stradic 4000 FI's twenty pounds of maximum drag), and weighs more (14.1 pounds, as opposed to 11.6 pounds). The Shimano Stradic 4000 FI spinning reel is equipped with Super Stopper II, which uses a one-way bearing to prevent backplay.
