The Aero Wrap feature of the Saros 4000F is a two-speed oscillation system that layers the line onto the spool in a criss-cross pattern, which reduces line-to-line friction for longer casts. This reel's Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement uses a special cold forged aluminum drive gear and a hardened brass pinion gear. This design means that this reel will retain its out-of-the-box smoothness for a while. The Fluidrive II feature of the Saros maximizes tooth contact by polishing the gear surface, resulting in a longer cast with less effort. This model differs from the closely related Saros 3000F in that it has a higher line capacity and power pro line capacity, a lower gear ratio (5.7:1 as opposed to 6.0:1), and weighs more (13.6oz. as opposed to 10.1oz.). The Shimano Saros 4000F spinning reel is forged with a combination of aluminum and graphite, a combination that ensures a durable, lightweight feel.
