Product Shot 1The Shimano Sahara 2500 FD is an all-purpose reel designed to keep snags to a minimum. This is an improvement from the Shimano Sahara 1000 FD, now with 35 inches of line retrieve per crank and a maximum drag of 11 pounds.

The model that follows, the Shimano Sahara 3000 FD, is almost the same but can handle a little more drag. Apart from this the 3 models have the same features, including a Propulsion spool lip designed to keep tangles to a bare minimum and a sturdy graphite rotor. The rotor works as part of the S Concept that enables fast winding and release of the line without tangles or drag. Maintenance of the reel is possible through a maintenance port, and the clicker is fully repairable.
