The Shimano FX 4000 FB is a low-cost spinning reel, approved for use in saltwater. This reel is part of Shimano's P3 lineup, which emphasizes power (which stems from the reel's drivetrain efficiency), precision (which results from even line lay, provided by the Varispeed oscillation system), and performance (which is the end result of the first two Ps).

To provide you with ease in hooksetting, the Super Stopper II feature of this reel uses a one-way bearing that eliminates backplay. Line twisting is another common angling problem, and the oversized Power Roller II of the Shimano FX 4000 FB reduces it on both the cast and the retrieve.
