Shimano BR-M445 Hydraulic Disc Brake Front
$59.00
Released January, 2011
The Pros:Considerable stopping power - Shimano brake pads perform very well, especially when used in conjunction with oil. Modulation is highly responsive - gradual slowing is easily achieved, while break-neck stopping requires minimal effort. Relatively quiet as compared to other after-market brake sets from Avid and Tektro - will almost certainly remain noiseless for hundreds of miles.
The Cons:Hydraulic design is much more prone to damage/failure than modern mechanical configurations - must be tirelessly maintained to ensure proper functionality.
Shimans BR-M445 Hydraulic Disc Brake (Front) is an entry-level model that pairs with the back version of the same model. This brake system is ideal for those on a budget but who still wish to use hydraulic rather than mechanical disc brakes.
