Sanyo Xacti VPC-GH2

$230.00 Released February, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Indoor still photos produce good lighting, quality is comparable to entry-level point and shoot cameras. Functionally good features (notably HD and zoom) for this price. Small form factor combined with better features make this a good choice over a "flip" style camcorder.

The Cons:Battery life is fine for still shooting, but drains quickly in HD and using the zoom function. Photo-taking buttons have cheap plastic build quality, are occasionally unresponsive. Feels lightweight, cheap, plastic-y.

The Xacti VPC-GH2 is a mid-range camcorder from Sanyo. It shoots video in resolutions up to 1080i with a 12x dual-range zoom, and 14-megapixel photos with 5x optical zoom. The camcorder contains new image stabilization technology which aims to enable low-noise, low-blur photos and steady video capture.
