Sanyo DP50710
$599.00
Released November, 2010
The Pros:Excellent brightness, can compete with any room lighting or sunlight. Color contrast is very high, subtle shades are distinct and clear. Built in tuner works efficiently, decodes signals fast enough for comfortable channel flipping.
The Cons:Can easily end up set too bright, hurt your eyes. Limited to 720p resolution, with no support for 1080p content. No way to connect the TV directly to the Internet.
The Sanyo DP50710 is an ultra-large 50” plasma HDTV with an unusually low 720p maximum resolution. Equipped with ATSC, NTSC, and Clear QAM tuners, the high-definition set supports an ultra-high 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, in addition to an unusually high 1500cd/m2 brightness, making it one of the brightest televisions on the market.

Featured are integrated 10W speakers and a 4-band equalizer, which is another unusual trait for a television. Signature though is connectivity, as there are enough ports to support DVD, VCR, Cable, Satellite, and external antenna hookups. There’s also a VGA interface for using the TV as a computer monitor, a digital coaxial output for connecting to a stereo system, and a USB port for viewing digital photos.
