Samsung PN51D450
$800.00
Released February, 2011
The Pros:Helpful manual, users can get alot more out of the TV if read. Excellent picture quality for the price. Highly configurable picture settings.
The Cons:Lack of older VGA connection. 720p resolution only.
The Samsung PN51D450 is a 51" plasma screen HDTV by Samsung. It resides in the lowest series of Samsung's 2011 plasma HDTV lineup. Unlike the majority of the Samsung 2011 TVs, the Samsung PN51D450 is not 3D and is only 720p, rather than 1080p.
It also does not offer the Samsung AllShare DLNA-streaming capability, nor does it offer the Samsung Hub software suite with Internet browser and Samsung apps. Essentially, the Samsung PN51D450 is a larger version of the Samsung PN43D450, and offers all of the same features, including playback of media over USB, and SRS TheaterSound audio technology. Despite not being a 3D TV, the Samsung PN51D450 still retains a 600Hz refresh rate, which greatly decreases the blur that is sometimes associated with plasma HDTVs. The Samsung PN51D450 is targeted towards people looking for a large HDTV, but who are willing to sacrifice top-notch image quality for lower price.
