Samsung PN43D450
$600.00
Released February, 2011
The Pros:Ultra-slim, sleek construction with clear accents on the bezel. 600Hz subfield drive provides super-smooth gaming, sports. Very reasonably priced for the size and specs.
The Cons:Lacks dedicated composite video or S-video inputs. Sub HD 720p--actual display resolution is 1024 x 768 which introduces some noise into the picture as images need to be converted to fit. Not enough HDMI inputs and very heavy.
The Samsung PN43D450 is a 43" plasma screen HDTV by Samsung. While it does reside ion in the 2011 series, the PN43D450 is at the lowest level of Samsung plasma's, so it is not 3D and only has a 720p resolution, rather than 1080p.
It also does not have Samsung AllShare capability, but still retains USB ports for displaying images and video from digital cameras. Since it lacks Allshare, the Samsung PN43D450 also does not have the Samsung Hub, for Internet browsing and application usage. Despite not offering 3D, the Samsung PN43D450 still features a 600Hz refresh rate, to help reduce the plasma screen blur. The Samsung PN43D450 has SRS TheaterSound audio technology for improved sound quality, and features an optical audio output. However, it does not have the Cinema Smooth HD technology for deeper blacks that is found in the Samsung D800 series. Because of this, the Samsung PN43D450 is targeted towards those looking for a cheap and large HDTV.
