Psyko Audio Labs Carbon

$200.00 Released April, 2011

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Improved woofers than those found in the first generation Psyko 5.1. 5 individual speakers for real surround sound - does a great job with positional audio cues, ideal for competitive gamers. Lower asking price than the original Psyko 5.1.

The Cons:Heavy and large. Designed primarily for gaming - not ideal for use with movies or music. Doesn't sound as good as similarly priced 2 channel headphone - higher levels of distortion, background noise, lower dynamic range.

The Psyko Audio Labs Carbon is a 5.1 gaming headset. It includes a mix-amp which enables the user to customise the sound; the amp's LED lights also indicate which sound channels are currently in use. The Carbon has 5 individual speakers in the headband for a complete surround sound.

The side of the headphones can also be opened to allow for ventilation, though how that will affect the sound quality is another question. The boom mic is removable providing extra flexibility. A tangle free braided cable to connect the amp to the headphones is also included with the package. The Psyko Audio Labs Carbon is a feature rich package aimed at gamers who are looking for a simple to setup and high quality audio solution.
