The Polaris 550 Shift 136 (2011) model is a mid-grade snowmobile designed for all-terrain (on and off trail) use. The 550 Shift is equipped with a 550N Polaris two-stroke engine (2-544cc) which was meant to be both lightweight and powerful.

The Polaris 550 Shift 136 model snowmobile includes a uniquely sculpted and lightweight "freestyle" seat which is designed to compensate for aggressive cornerning and allow comfortable "stand-up" riding. The 550 Shift snowmobile also includes an IQ suspension system which houses RydeFX MPV shocks in both front and rear locations. The Polaris 550 Shift 136 snowmobile also includes additional features such as a digital CDI (electronic) ignition system, Phantom Hydraulic type disc brakes, a fixed 2.4" riser steering column, mechanical fuel capacity and speedometer gauges, integrated (adjustable) thumb and hand warmers for the operator/driver, and a 12" clear windshield. The Polaris 550 Shift also includes accessories which are available for purchase separately that add features to the machine such as a 12v DC Outlet add-on, Handlebar hooks, extended mirrors, a rear storage rack, and a tow hitch.
