Pioneer DJM-900NEXUS
$2,399.00
Released February, 2011
The Pros:Larger range of quality effects than similar competing mixers. High-quality 96kHz/24bit 32bit sound card outputs cleaner sound than the DJM800. Faders feel excellent--heavy and smooth.
The Cons:Significant audible white noise when connected to monitors, making it useless for studio use. Doesn't include TRAKTOR software, despite its compatibility and price point.
The Pioneer DJM-900NEXUS is a professional-level 4-channel DJ mixer. One of the main features emphasized by Pioneer in promotion is this mixer's array of onboard effects. Three Sound Color FX--Space, Dub Echo and Gate/Comp--are new for this model, making six Sound Color FX in total.
There are also two new Beat Effects, Spiral and Melodic. The new X-Pad, a touch screen control bar, enables quick access, control, and manipulation of the thirteen built-in Beat Effects. With a touch or slide of the X-Pad control, you can change the sound parameters of each effect. To help preserve your sound dynamics, the Pioneer DJM-900NEXUS features the industry's first MIDI signal output, which changes at beat-by-beat intervals. To facilitate group performances, the Pioneer DJM-900NEXUS has DJ Link functionality, which allows it to link to Pioneer's CDJ-2000 and CDJ-900 players (with firmware version 4.00 or later), giving users access to a song’s beats per minute and beat location information, for precise beat matching capability.
