The Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD is an in-dash AV receiver featuring a 7-inch LCD touchscreen with a motorized face. Compared to the 5.8-inch AVH-P3200DVD, this unit features a larger screen by just over an inch.

Compared to the AVH-P5200DVD, this receiver has the same size screen but does not include the slimmer flip-out form-factor. The AVH-P4200DVD can play DVDs, VCDs, DivX files and recordable discs with MP3, AAC and WMA music files. Users can also utilize the front SD card slot for additional ways of consuming media. Apple iPod devices are also compatible when connected with a USB cable. Advanced iPod controls are shown onscreen including song tags, album art and a search function. Separately purchased hardware is compatible with the Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD, including Bluetooth, navigation and HD radio upgrades.
