The Cons:Video mode lags behind the competition. $300 premium over the K-7 introductory MSRP. AF system, while improved still only has 11 points.

The Pentax K-5 is a weather-resistant camera built for durability. It uses magnesium alloy covers around a stainless steel chassis, and is built to operate under cold conditions. Image stabilization is handled through a physical Shake Reduction (SR) system, which allows the lens to move slightly.

A burst mode is available for capturing up to 7 frames per second, and high definition video can be captured in 1080p at 25 frames per second. A built-in microphone can be augmented through a standard 3.5mm jack. A built-in viewfinder provides 100% field of view, allowing for accurate shot alignment, and a 3 inch LCD is available for quick shooting and review.
