Panasonic SDR-T70

$269.99 Released March, 2011

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Optical image stabilisation on a budget camera, a welcomed addition. Fast and simple procedure in order to upload you videos to social networks such as YouTube and Facebook. Zoom mic with wind noise canceling results in good quality audio recording in all conditions.

The Cons:SD picture quality is poor, no good for play back on HDTVs or displays. For buyers who don't need the zoom function or want to carry a sizable camera around, a budget HD record such as Flip or a smartphone with a good camera could well offer an even better video quality.

The Panasonic SDR-T70 is a lower mid-cost standard definition camcorder. This camcorder is equipped with the iA (Intelligent Auto) suite, a series of features (including Auto-focus/Auto-exposure) that automatically selects the appropriate settings for optimal video quality.

The 33mm wide-angle lens of this camcorder allows a large depth of field for sharp images, and makes shooting video indoors or in tight spaces more convenient by allowing more surrounding area into the frame. The SDR-T70 has an Enhanced Optical Zoom of 78x, which helps to ensure detailed images. The Advanced OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) feature of this camcorder helps to reduce blur when zooming (at a rate of 4,000 times per second). With the included Active mode, the blur will be cut even if you are walking and shooting. The LED light on this camcorder helps you to capture video in low-light situations. This camcorder differs from the slightly lower cost SDR-S70 model in that it offers color options (red, silver, black) instead of offering only black like the SDR-S70, and has 4GB of built-in memory (approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes of video in LP mode). This model differs from the higher cost SDR-H100 model in that the SDR-H100 has an 80GB hard disk drive. The Panasonic SDR-T70 is equipped with an Eco Mode, which automatically turns off the power when the camcorder is not operated for five minutes, reducing wasteful energy use and saving battery power.
