OCZ Enyo

$230.00 Released June, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Slick high-end packaging. Beautiful and slim anodized aluminum enclosure. Enclosure finish is resistant to scratches and fingerprint marks.

The Cons:Uses the latest slim style USB 3.0 cable - not easily replaceable if lost, can't often find one lying around if you forget yours. High price - the cost of an internal solid state drive.

The OCZ Enyo is a USB 3.0 portable solid state drive, available in capacities ranging from 64GB to 256GB. The drive is housed in a anodized aluminum enclosure, and is relatively thin at 0.4-inches. The manufacturer claims this drive enables speeds up to 10 times faster than a standard USB 2.0 drive.

Where to Buy

OCZ cites reads up to 260MB/s and writes up to 200MB/s. For example, if a 6GB DVD image was copied to the drive over USB 3.0, users could expect it to take about 20 seconds. The same task would take approximately 3.3 minutes over USB 2.0. Expert reviewers have indicated that while sustained drive speeds aren’t quite as fast as the manufacturer claims, the Enyo is still quicker than competing products such as the USB 3.0 Super Talent thumb drive. A white cable and the instruction manual are included in the box.
