The Pros:Built on the latest 40nm fabrication process by TSMC. Support for SLI (multiple cards working in tandem). Continues support for Nvidia's proprietary and widely adopted Physx, CUDA and Nvidia 3D Vision technologies.
The Cons:Guzzles power - albeit not as much as the 480, requires a quality high-powered PSU, added cost to platform / for additional power (utility bills). Large physical size (the same size as the 5850) - requires a large, airy case to fit and function without overheating. Inefficient compared to its direct competition the 5850, and even its faster, hotter brother the 5870.
The GeForce GTX 470 is a high-end desktop graphics card to be released in spring 2010 by Nvidia, alongside the GTX 480. The two new DirectX 11 GPUs replace the most advanced 200-Series models at the top of Nvidia's lineup.

The GTX 470 employs 1280 MB of GDDR5 memory and 448 CUDA cores, which combine with Nvidia PhysX and other technologies to enable ultra-realistic graphics in today's most demanding games. The card supports up to 3 HD displays at once, and two SLI-configured GPUs support 3D video via Nvidia 3D Vision Surround technology, although a 3D-capable display and glasses are also required. The top-end GTX 480 features more memory and CUDA cores, producing moderately higher clock speeds.

Overclock very well. Guaranteed to overclock this card at least 20% in the core. which will yield its performance near to a GTX 480 levels with much lesser price.

just barely matches the 5850 in terms of performance, while being priced similar to a 5870

large GPU (physical size / transistor count) means it costs a lot to make, suffers from more fabrication errors, runs hot and takes a lot of power, cannot make much money for Nvidia and price for end user cannot drop very fast or far
