Monster Beats By Dr. Dre Solo HD
$230.00
Released March, 2010
The Pros:Includes some nice accessories like a carrying case and cloth to keep the headphones looking sharp. ControlTalk cable (new feature on the Solo HD and not the Solo) - allows for use of the headphone to be used to pick up calls, features a button and built-in microphone, also acts as basic music controls. Beautiful and unique aesthetic.
The Cons:Not as bassy as the beats - poor for those looking for an identical sound signature. Carrying case is not the hard version included with the Beats. Uses celebrity endorsement over pure technical merit to sell product.
The Monster Beats By Dr. Dre Solo HD are a pair of on-ear headphones that features an inline microphone and integrated iPod controls. It builds from the original Beats Solo by adding only newly redesigned drivers for clearer, higher-quality audio.

In all other ways, however, it is a near duplicate. It too features a compact design with full-size circular earcups that swivel and fit over the outer ear. And signature to the Solo HD is that it can also be used to take iPhone calls, as well as operate an iPod. Additional features include an adjustable band, a thick removable cable, and a gold-plated L-plug for hooking up to an audio source.
