Mio Moov R503T

$89.99 Released November, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:5" display is big, easy to see, great for gleaning info at a glance. Easy to unlock, sideload additional maps. Great overall quality for the price (usually runs ~$100).

The Cons:Very limited battery life--2 hours on a charge. Additional maps are not available for this GPS. I was surprised and disappointed to find from Mitac I could not get a Canada map. Inconsistent routing performance--often picks inconvenient or circuitous routes.

The Mio Moov R503T is a portable GPS receiver designed primarily for a vehicle, though it can be detached and used elsewhere for up to 2 hours. As a premium GPS receiver, the R503T comes with free life-time traffic alerts.

This provides users with up to date traffic information so that the receiver can better calculate routes based on what’s currently happening in one’s city. Plus the receiver comes with pre-loaded maps for the United States and Puerto Rico, though additional maps can be obtained from Mio. Note that these maps come with millions of preloaded points of interest (POIs), enabling users to quickly search for and find important locations such as hotels, restaurants, and gas stations. Also included are voice prompts and visual indicators for driving more safely without having to strain oneself.
