The Microsoft Wireless Mouse 1000 is a low-cost wireless mouse for use with laptop and desktop computers. The mouse is full-sized and contoured the same way on both sides to enable use with either hand.

Connection to the computer is managed through a transceiver that plugs into a standard USB port and communicates wirelessly to the mouse. A 2.4 GHz wireless connection is used that can work from up to 15 feet away. Microsoft Optical Technology is used to create precision control of the cursor up to 1000 dpi. Two standard buttons are built in and a clickable scroll wheel can be used as a third button. This mouse is powered by a pair of AA batteries.
