Microsoft LifeCam Studio
$99.95
Released September, 2010
The Pros:Excellent compatibility with most online video streaming services. Very sturdy construction, looks like a solid piece of hardware. Included software is clean, organized, and simple to work with.
The Cons:Doesn't provide 1080p video with included software, need separate software for that. Autofocus tends to hunt around for the right focus a lot. Low light conditions don't work out at all, can't find focus.
The Microsoft LifeCam Studio is a high-quality webcam capable of producing a 1080p high definition picture. The camera uses an auto-focus system to ensure that the user is clear at any distance from the camera, and a high-precision glass element lens gathers light at a wide angle for a clearer picture.
TrueColor technology automatically adjusts the camera to create bright and vibrant colors, and ClearFrame technology is used to ensure that the video is detailed and smooth. An integrated high-fidelity microphone gathers natural and detailed audio. The tripod thread under the camera can be used to mount on a standard tripod, and an included clamp attaches to the top of a monitor.
