An upgrade from the Maytag MTF1842E and a downgrade from the Maytag MTB2254E, the Maytag MTF2142E maintains the MTF1842E’s 18.00 cubic ft. capacity, but also adds along a factory-installed ice maker with an ice bin. In all other ways, the MTF2142E is practically equivalent to its peers. For instance, the MTF2142E also features three Spill-Catcher glass shelves to help contain spills, a covered dairy compartment that provides a convenient place to store cheese slices or sticks of butter, and 2 FreshLock crispers with humidity Controls. In addition, the MTF1842E sports a Cool Flow ventilation system that works with the automatic moisture control to maintain the correct temperature and 3 pick-off gallon-plus door bins. The MTF1842E also supports an automatic ice maker, but does not include it in its base price. The Maytag MTF2142E retails for $849.00 (versus $799.00/$949.00) and comes with a 1 year limited warranty.
