The PenTouch 50PV490 is a high-definition touchscreen television from LG that offers a step-down from the company's PenTouch 60PV490 model. Fitted with a 50-inch plasma LCD display, this model provides full 1080p HD playback for optimal viewing amongst TV and movie content.

PC users can sync the unit with their computer via HDMI to access a range of widget applications, navigating with the included stylus control thanks to PenTouch TV touchscreen capabilities. Built-in services include internet browsing, photo editing, calendar support and video streaming, with Wi-Fi connectivity providing quick setup times for experienced and inexperienced users alike. A helpful self-calibration function is available that can significantly improve picture quality based on a given environment, adjusting black level, colour, sharpness and backlighting to suit the user's surroundings. Eco-conscious users can access a number of Smart Energy Saving features to reduce unnecessary emissions, a feature that is especially helpful for units that receive extensive regular use. Further picture settings are provided via the TV's front-mounted Intelligent Sensor, with a list of ISDccc Ready settings built into the remote control for pre-configured daytime and nighttime viewing.
