Dual filtering provides series, parallel and individual structure within one envelope, while multi-mode resonance and comb filtering can be configured on the second one for controlling overtones and processing customized sound sets. A dedicated "Amp" provides users with 12 wave-shaping types for powerful overdriving, with hard-button presets like "Punch" functioning similarly to "Boost" settings on many hardware amplifiers. 128 sound programs are available that span 16 selectable banks, including "Bass", "Lead", "Poly Synth", "Pad/Strings", "Perc/Hit" and more. Editable parameters such as cross-modulation, formant motion and 8-step arpeggiation allow the R3 to accurately replicate many analog synthesizer tones, with two external inputs provided for processing DAW audio or synchronizing hardware effects units and sequencers.
