128 user-rewritable programs are included, based on Korg's classic MS2000 synthesizer. Dual-oscillator DSP enables synchronization of over 70 waveform types, with additional DWGS waveforms adapted from Korg's legendary DW-8000 synth. Ring and Synchronized modulation types are available on the unit's second oscillator, with mapping options including the standard pan pots as well as the mod and pitch bend wheels. The "Virtual Patch Matrix" setting enables further routing options, with two ADSR envelope generators and two additional MIDI-syncable LFOs for fully-customized sound design. The microKORG also features an 8-band vocoder modelled after Korg's original VC-10 model, with "Freeze" and "Shift" formant options for creating other-wordly processors based on the user's own voice. Multiple effects are included such as Chorus/Flanger, Phaser and Ensemble modulation types, Stereo, Cross and L/R delay types, and a dedicated two-band equalizer for each channel. In addition, 6 arpeggiators provide tempo, gate time and swing control over a 4-octave range, with full MIDI controllability for triggering and synchronizing external devices.
