Kona Unit (2010)

$899.00 Released August, 2009

Product Shot 1The Kona Unit is a mid-range '29er' mountain bike meant for all-around use. Designed with larger-than-average 29" wheels and only one speed, the Unit is definitely aimed at a niche market; its steel frame also makes the Unit a sort of rarity among modern bikes as most are made of aluminum.

However, for those who prefer simplicity and durability above all else, the Kona Unit is the bike to go with.

The Unit's 29" wheels provide it with greater stability, a smoother ride, improved cornering and float and superior momentum compared to typical 26" wheeled bikes. Its single speed design also provides the Unit with some unique advantages over typical modern gear styles, like a more durable gear system that requires less maintenance and is less likely to have its chain fall loose. Additionally, the Unit's steel frame composition ensures that it will last for years to come.
