The KitchenAid KSM450BK is a stand mixer with a unique bowl-lift design. It uses a direct-drive transmission, which allows for greater force on the moving parts with less wear and tear. The 300 Watt motor moves the mixer in a 59-point action, which creates a greater degree of efficiency when seeking an even mix throughout.

The burnished metal "C" dough hook kneads dough, and the included flat beater and wire beater work with other recipes as needed. The 10-speed slide control can be set to a fast whip or a slow mix. The bowl itself is a narrow 4 1/2 quart unit finished in Stainless Steel with a handle.
