Product Shot 1 The Pros:Offers good value, lots of functions for the price. IPod and iPhone interface is fast and easy to work with. Remote control is well laid out and easy to work with.

The Kenwood KDC-448U is an advanced A/V head unit and in-dash car receiver that comes with an integrated CD player that supports MP3 and WMA content. Primarily designed as an iPod and iPhone friendly receiver, the KDC-448U offers a front USB port to hook up an iPod or iPhone.

Even more interesting is that the device offers iPod control, in that an iPod hooked up by USB can be directly controlled through the receiver’s controls. There’s even a ‘direct access’ button for quickly accessing the iPod’s functions. Like other A/V head units, the KDC-448U comes with preamp outputs for connecting to an external amplifier or subwoofer. Plus there is an auxiliary port for playing an MP3 player. It does not support video content, but there is an LCD display that can display information such as song title, artist, etc.
