Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X994

$280.00 Released January, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Small remote included enables access to full stereo functions. Illumination color easily changed to match the dash lights. Bluetooth connections to cellphone work well, wireless mic included.

The Cons:Display washes out in direct sunlight. If not listening to music, incoming calls do not make a sound through the unit - need to hear the phone or notice it vibrating. Overly glossy - looks cheap and picks up fingerprints easily.

The Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X994 is a higher-end, single-DIN car audio receiver. It is an upgrade over the KDC-X794, adding built-in Bluetooth, which enables hands-free calling and other features when linked with a Bluetooth-capable mobile device.

Anonymous: #kenwood_excelon_kdc_x994 Looses connection with I pod have to push the reset button often and reset time color and preset radio stations. Had unit for four months the amp went out in it going on four weeks in the send back repair or replace process. Have not got word back yet from Kenwood on repair or replacement of unit. I was told it was a two week process. Customer service from Kenwood leaves a lot to be desired and I am being generous. Jan 29, 11
