When you are playing music on your iPod/iPhone (which you can control through the rear USB 2.0 port), it will be turned down so that this unit can give you turn-by-turn directions. This A/V head unit supports DVD playback, and is HD ready. With a subscription, you can have satellite radio playing on the KW-AVX840 (with Dolby Digital sound). You can customize your screen by creating personal wallpaper images as backgrounds. You can also control basic functions using touch and slide control operations. This model differs from the lower cost KW-AVX794 model in that it has a motorized seven inch touchscreen with proximity sensor (as opposed to 6.1 inches of regular detachable touchscreen), has a seven-band iEQ (for fine-tuning your audio settings), is Dual Play/Dual Zone capable (which allows passengers in the front and the back to take in different media), and is steering wheel remote control ready. The JVC KW-AVX840 A/V unit comes with Bluetooth included, which allows you to make hands-free calls, stream audio, dial with your voice, and use Handsfree/Private mode.
