A large backlit LCD display is mounted underneath the unit's front handlebars that comes pre-loaded with 12 exercise programs, featuring routines that target heart rate control, pulse recovery and wattage expenditure. Programs can be customized to suit the fitness needs of a given user, with manual override available for mid-workout adjustments. Accurate second-to-second heart-rate information is supplied via the sensor-equipped "Pulse" grips that are on either side of the 1740's ergonomic padded seat, with a pulse recovery program that grades riders based on the time it takes their body to return to a healthy resting heart-rate. The seat includes a padded backrest for increased comfort, and is adjustable via a locking system to accommodate users of all sizes. A stainless steel water bottle is also included for mid-ride hydration, with an easily accessible mounted holder located right in front of the user. The step-through frame design of the bike minimizes the risk of potential injury when getting on and off the 1740, and a set of front-mounted wheels make for easy maneuverability when not in use.
