IngenuiTea

$19.00

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Pot is microwavable. Heat water right in the teapot then add tea. Filter is replaceable. Also it's dishwasher safe!

The Cons:It's plastic!

The IngenuiTea is this remarkable one-person tea kettle.  It looks rather like a heavy-plastic cup, with a lid on it.  In truth, the bottom of this cup is actually a valve.  When the IngenuiTea is set on a plate, the valve is closed.

Product Shot 2  When you set the IngenuiTea on top of your cup, the valve is opened and the tea can drain out.  So to make a fresh cup of tea, set the IngenuiTea on your kitchen counter (or whereever you make your tea) dump a serving of whatever loose leaf tea you like into the IngenuiTea, add hot water, wait and then set the IngenuiTea on your cup.  No-fuss, no-muss and you've got a fresh, piping-hot cup of tea!

And it really is no-muss as valve in the bottom of the IngenuiTea is covered by a fine, mesh-filter which keeps the leaves in the IngenuiTea and out of your cup.

The starter set also includes a small book which very briefly discusses tea's benefits and history.  As well as one of 4 different sample packs of tea: black, green, flavored or herbal.  The teas in the sampler packs are subject to change, but currently the black sampler pack includes yunnan jig which happens to be my favorite.

marcL: #ingenuitea I'm not a fan of plastic. Though, I give this infuser points for design and convenience. However, I don't see why you'd pay more for this, than for a simple stainless steel infuser. I use this type of infuser for 4 cup pots, and for single infusions. Overall, it's more flexible, durable and it's not plastic :) Jan 9, 08

GT-D: #ingenuitea Thats a really cool idea - loose tea is generally much nicer. I'm not too thrilled about the idea of microwaving it - I find microwaved water tastes weird... but I have a gas stove, so boiling water takes no time. Jun 12, 07

Infomaniac: #ingenuitea I love this teapot. I have to get rid of all my tea bags because this pot makes loose tea a dream. I bought the starter set, the ice tea duo and also the blood orange tea which is absolutely delicious. If you love tea check it out. May 12, 07
