IKEA Sultan Hasselback Mattress

$450.00 Released January, 2005

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Really comfy- firm yet with a plush top. Some sagging mattresses may be a bad batch - IKEA employee in Twin Cities said that that "sometimes happens - just bring it back". Comfortable and firm. no problems in the long run.

The Cons:Sags terribly in the middle after a couple of months (but they've agreed to exchange). The springs are crude and hard and can be felt under the thin layer of foam. It hurts after a few hours.

Thick and firm. Great support.
Active pocket springs with firm posture support provide optimal relief. They support your body at its lightest points and relieve pressure where it is heaviest.
Two layers of foam follow the contours of your body to give the mattress great comfort and a long life.
Soft quilted top side and underside, covered in 100% cotton, give a cushiony surface.

Pip Pipkins: #ikea_sultan_hasselback_mattress I am a pretty large guy 6'4" weighing in around 280 lbs and this mattress is killing my back! I've had it for around 2 years... first 6 months firm and super supportive, next 6 comfortable but not as firm in spots, next 6 months a little saggy, last 3 months super saggy developing odd divits in unexpected places. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MATTRESS! Oct 11, 09

designhole: #ikea_sultan_hasselback_mattress Mine sacks HORRIBLY. I'm lying on it now and it's killing me.

BUT I own 2 other IKEA mattresses - same style and they're fine. I don't think you can return it easily. You have to have the original receipt. So wish me luck. But if they say no tomorrow I'm off to buy a Serta. Dec 3, 08

Anonymous: mine was ok. had it for 6 years! will miss it...just bought a seally...we'll see how that goes. I worry I'm going to regret throwing mine out.

One thing about the mattress I did notice though, is you have to keep flipping it. No biggie. Sep 19, 11

Anonymous: Really sad they discontinued this and replaced it with one that is harder and one that is softer. The new ones are terrible. Please bring back the sultan Hasselback, ikea! Feb 26, 13
