HP ProBook 4520s

$719.00 Released March, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Stays cool and quiet. Good all around business machine - quality components and build for an affordable price. Beautiful aluminum body - a step up from the previous generation 4510s' plastic enclosure.

The Cons:Poorer battery life than the previous generation offering (4:18 vs 5:10). Lack of upgrade access - bottom is one solid aluminum piece with no access hatches. Crappy touchpad presents more issues than it's worth.

The ProBook 4520s is a 15.6" mid-priced notebook laptop from HP, designed for business purposes. There are three models with the 4520s, the WH290UT ($879.00), the WH289UT ($799.00), and the WH288UT ($719.00).

The three models differ in operating system, processor, memory and power, but they have most of the same features. For example, security is an emphasized feature of the ProBook line, and accordingly, all of the 4520s have HP's ProtectTools with face recognition for logging in and internet use. There is also the additional option of a fingerprint verification system. The graphics on the 4520 are ATI's Mobility Radeon HD 4350, a step up from cheaper models in the ProBook line. At 5.27 lbs, the 4520s is not quite as lightweight as the other notebooks in the ProBook line.
