HP Pavilion tx2500z Series
$1,038.00
Released June, 2008
The Pros:(2008 standards) One of few affordable convertible tablets, most are business tablets such as the Thinkpad X61t. Accurate stylus support and good built-in stylus storage location.
The Cons:Poor battery life for a 12.1" ultraportable notebook, due to the Turion X2 processor. Runs exceptionally hot, also due to the Turion X2 processor which is essentially a toned down version of AMD's desktop processor. Screen quality is poor, picture is grainy and viewing angles are subpar.
The Pavilion tx2500z series is a line of 12.1" tablet-style notebook computers. The main feature of this series of notebooks is the twisting display, which can be flipped around to produce a flat display-surface, and the touch-screen capability, which includes an electronic pen for handwriting and free-drawing.

Unless buyers are really limited on budget and must acquire a convertible tablet, they should look towards more expensive options from HP's business line, Thinkpads, and Fujitsu's tablet line

At 4.59lbs, the tx2500z is heavy for a 12.1" notebook with the majority of convertible tablets well under 4lbs
