HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition
$1,249.99
Released March, 2011
The Pros:Aluminum case finish looks clean and striking. Ability to switch from gaming graphics to battery saving mode is a unique feature, easy to use and works well. Boots up very quickly, only a minute and it's running.
The Cons:Battery charger is oversized, not easy to lug around when traveling. When resting wrists on the plastic top, it sinks a bit and the aluminum rim digs in.
The HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition is a laptop for gamers. It uses an Intel Core i7 processor that makes processing very fast. There's also 6GB of RAM, meaning multiple applications can be loaded at once.

And with the large hard drive, users can store mass quantities of games and other multimedia files. Since the laptop is mainly for gaming, it uses a premium Radeon graphics card with 1GB of RAM that is compatible with all the latest formats like DirectXX 11 and OpenGL 4.1. Not only can it play Blu-ray discs without any flickers of blurs, but it can also process the most demanding games at their highest graphical settings. Unfortunately, the display, which is 15.6" large, only supports a 1366x768 resolution, meaning that it isn't optimal for displaying Blu-ray content at their full 1080p high definition resolution. Mind you, there are speakers for enjoying the music. Plus there is a wireless card, meaning you can stay connected anywhere.
