The HP Pavilion dv2z is a notebook produced by HP to be only .93 of an inch thin, making it one of the thinner notebooks on the market at the time of its release. The small 12.1 inch screen is accompanied by a light weight of 3.8 pounds, making the notebook easy to lug around on an everyday basis.

The HP Pavilion dv2z includes software such as MediaSmart, to take full advantage of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3410 discrete graphics and entertainment capabilities of the notebook. It has a high-capacity hard drive with up to 500GB of space and the ability to handle an optional external Blu-ray disc drive. The HP Pavilion dv2z includes a built-in webcam and a microphone.
