HP G60-530US
$630.00
Released July, 2009
The Pros:Good performance / value ratio. Good battery live for a budget notebook. Once bloatware is cleaned up, it is a good budget solution for basic usage such as email and social networking.
The Cons:Questionable support service for HP G-series / Pavilion series notebooks. Pre-installed bloatware. Long term reliability issues.
The HP G60-530US is one of two HP G60 laptop configurations options. It picks up from the G60-438NR left off, but adds along a superior 2.1GHz processor, a larger 320GB SATA hard-disc drive, and 802.11 Draft N wireless connectivity.

Like its predecessor, it hosts up to 4GB of RAM and a 16” high-definition display that can easily handle 720p content. It’s especially useful for multimedia purposes like watching movies either on the screen or on an HDTV via the included HDMI multimedia interface port. Consider also the DVD drive, which allows users to burn content on any DVD-R or DVD-RW disc. The only drawback to the G60-530US is that like its predecessor, it hosts only standard Ethernet.
