Gibson Elvis Presley King of Rock J-200

$3,549.00 Released January, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Immaculate sound quality - oversized body with sitka spruce top provides phenomenal resonance/clarity. Functions very well as a collectors item - faithful recreation of Elvis' earlier guitars that is a must-have for any die-hard fan. Ebony fingerboard is soft and springy - more "intimate" than competitor rosewood models.

The Cons:Surprising amount of minor faults for the price point - some models are prone to high frets, rising bridge paint, loose neck bindings and small cracks in pearl inlay. Considerably overpriced for the feature set - similar models from Gibson and Martin without Elvis Presley branding are available for a fraction of the price.

The Gibson Elvis Presley King of Rock J-200 is an acoustic guitar made from some of the finest ebony available. The "King's Crown" inlays are made out of genuine mother of pearl. They are incorporated into the guitar without the use of fillers through the incorporation of a process that eliminates gaps.

The back and sides of the guitar are made with eastern curly maple and the top is made with sitka spruce. The Gibson Elvis Presley King of Rock J-200 is built with an element active acoustic pickup system which is made with a low-profile undersaddle element which is more durable than many of the others on the market. The construction of the guitar makes it possible to project deep, powerful lows with a fleshed out frequency range, delivering a huge balanced sound that is standard in any of Gibson's Super Jumbos.
