GE DV1

$148.79 Released October, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Waterproofing is effective, safe to use just under the water's surface. Can be dropped a few times without breaking the unit. Solid build quality doesn't flex or creak.

The Cons:Flip-out USB connector needs an extension wire, a bit awkward to connect it directly to a PC. Display seems very small, don't really know what the video looks like until viewed on a big screen. Can not transfer files to computer since Picasa is pre installed.

The GE DV1 is a miniature, Flip-like HD camcorder that’s waterproof, shockproof, and dustproof. Featured is a 5.5mm fixed focal length lens (33mm-35mm equivalent) and a 5MP CMOS sensor for capturing 1080p video footage at 7.3fps, and 5MP stills.

Anonymous: Hi Branon, first copy to PC, then use a free program called free video to dvd, its really fast and you can add as many clips as you want. Once converted you can use any video editing program, I prefer ulead video studio 8as I got it free years ago with an old camcorder, it processes real quick as your movie is already dvd files. I find this is best for me as I have a slow pc and this way theres know loss of quality. The only thing you have to remember is to record movie at 30 frames per second, and edit in ntsc best quality, with both free video to dvd and what ever editing program you use, if you want to play end video in pal just run it through dvd shrink, which is also free, job done sounds hard but is really easy and quick. One more thing when instaling freevideo to dvd, uncheck the boxes for instaling the tool bar and other rubbish. Dave Jan 20, 11
